Prof. Sung-Kyun Kim - Asian Cultural Landscape Association (ACLA), SNU, Seoul, Korea.
Prof. Rana P.B. Singh - Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (India), and ACLA.

Call for Papers
Theme: “Agricultural Landscapes of Asia: Learning, Preserving, and Redefining”
The committee are receiving abstracts for paper presentation and poster presentation.
Paper presentation will be held for about 15~20 min. Topic of interest are listed below for your
reference, but not limited to the following topics:


Learning:
· Sustainable practices and heritages of agricultural landscapes
· Tangible-intangible heritage scenario of agricultural landscapes, nature-culture interfaces,
types of farming practices
· The architecture of rice-farming settlement
· Conflicts and matters in agricultural landscapes and practices


Preserving:
· Local genius system of agricultural landscapes like rice fields, spirit of places
· Remarkable and distinct attributes of agricultural landscapes, and their regional typologies,
and the cultural milieus
· Biodiversity and natural conservation among the agricultural landscapes
· Culture, planning and the conservation of the paddy’s landscape

Redefining:
· Resilience of agricultural landscape and associated cultural practices
· Empowering farming community in respect to agricultural landscapes, rural-urban
linkages
· Economic benefits of rice farming: current practices and prospect for sustainability
· Transferring practical and ritual knowledge of agricultural community to young people
· Positioning agricultural landscapes among interests

Submission of Papers: Prospective authors are invited to submit their abstract(s). All submissions will be reviewed and the selection of abstracts/papers will be made by the ACLA
2015 Symposium committee upon recommendations from the Technical Committee.


Important Deadlines:
Abstracts (papers and posters) submission:… 30th March 2015
Accepted abstracts announcement:…………. 15th April 2015
Full papers submissions:……………………. 15th May 2015
Accepted full paper announcement:………… 15th June 2015.


Notification: Authors will be notified about the decision regarding the acceptance of his/her abstract(s) via e-mail and will be posted on the symposium website: http://balicls.unud.ac.id/
A template for full papers will be provided after acceptance announcement, along with the e-mail send to the author.

1) Without accommodation: US$ 300  2) Double occupancy: US$ 350 3) Single occupancy: US$ 450
2. Local participants
1) Without accommodation: Rp 2500K 2)Double occupancy: Rp 3500K 3) Single occupancy: Rp 4700K

Registration fee includes
· Hotel accommodation for five-days/four-nights (5D/4N) - double/single occupancy
breakfast included check-in August 13th/check-out August 17th, 2015.
